Homeward Bound

Leander departs from the Bahamas today for the good ol’ USA

We’ll sail 700 miles up the Gulf Stream from Nassau to Beaufort Inlet, in North Carolina.  We should be able to take advantage of the strong current in the Gulf Stream, which will push us along.  We anticipate about five days at sea, with a fueling stop at West End, Grand Bahamas, tomorrow morning.

It’ll be Leander’s first time back in mainland U.S. in eight years.   It’ll be nice to arrive home, with not so much left to Massachusetts.

We’ll be buddy-boating with good friends Tripp and Lisa Presnell, and their children Finn and Mackie, aboard s/v Piper. We could be doing lots of motoring, and so it will be comforting to have someone nearby in the event of engine trouble.
