Atlantic Crossing: Some days were better than others!

Some parts of the crossing were more pleasant than others. Sima thought this part was less fun.

Squalls sometimes came up, accompanied with a sudden change in wind speed and direction.  As the wind veered or backed, we’d need to move the boat in a different direction through the waves.  The autopilot often had a hard time keeping up.  We liked to give the autopilot an hour or two break every day anyway, to give the unit’s motor a rest, and it often made the most sense to do that when a squall was blowing, when the autopilot would be overworked.

Sima has her arms full here.  The rain is coming at us sideways, and Leander is moving around a lot in the seas.  You see, however, what good skills she has developed over the years.
